Bone Broth for Hair, Skin, Nails and Joints

by Bon Sip

We spend so much on what we put on our skin and hair. But real nourishment starts from within. That is the idea behind our Roasted Beef Bone Broth: it was made for hair, skin, nails and joints.

It starts with collagen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body. It gives structure to skin, hair and nails, and it's a key part of the cartilage that cushions our joints. As we age, our bodies make less of it.

Bone broth is one of the most traditional sources of collagen there is. We roast grass-fed beef bones from animals raised without hormones or antibiotics, then simmer them slowly for over 24 hours. That long, gentle cooking draws collagen, gelatin and amino acids like glycine and proline from the bones into every cup, along with minerals such as calcium, magnesium and phosphorus.

The herbs we chose for skin and beauty

  • Calendula and marigold: golden flowers traditionally used to support healthy, glowing skin
  • Gotu kola: a revered herb in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese practice, traditionally used for skin, memory and focus
  • Nettle: a mineral-rich herb traditionally used for strong hair and nails
  • Red clover and burdock: classic herbal allies traditionally used for cleansing and clear skin
  • Chamomile: traditionally used for calm and restful sleep, when the body does much of its repair

How to make the most of it

  1. Make it daily. Like anything that nourishes from within, consistency matters. One cup a day is a wonderful habit.
  2. Pair it with vitamin C. Your body needs vitamin C to make collagen. Add a squeeze of lemon to your cup, or enjoy it alongside citrus, berries or peppers.
  3. Stay hydrated. Broth counts. Glowing skin starts with water.
  4. Move your joints. Gentle, regular movement and good nourishment work best together.
  5. Cook with it. Use it as the base for stews, risotto and our Roasted Beef Bone Broth Chili.

Beauty that lasts is built slowly, from the inside out, one nourishing cup at a time.
