One Skillet Beef And Pasta Shells
by Nadia Perlman
Serves 4
2 cups pasta shells (or any pasta alternative)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb. extra lean ground beef
½ Yellow onion, finely chopped
2 cloves fresh garlic, pressed
1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
2 tbsp all purpose flour
2 cups Bon Sip Roasted Beef Bone Broth
1 ¾ cups homemade tomato sauce or your favourite store bought jar of tomato sauce
¾ cup half and half
1 ¾ cup extra sharp shredded cheddar
salt and pepper to taste
Cook pasta al dente and drain well. Add olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add beef and cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat and set aside. Add onion to the same skillet and cook until translucent, 2-3 minutes. Stir in garlic and Italian seasoning for about 1 minute. Add in flour and whisk as if making a roux, about 1 minute. Slowly add in Bon Sip Sipping Roasted Beef Bone Broth and tomato sauce. Bring to a simmer - do not allow to reach a rolling boil. Simmer until sauce thickens, about 8 minutes. Stir in cooked pasta, sauteed beef and cream until heated through. Season with salt and pepper and stir in cheese until melted and smooth.
Serve immediately.
